GALE Virtual Reference Center 2

I tried the term "zinc" (without the quotes) since I'm always interested in eating well and take vitamins every day. One hundred sixty-four articles were returned. That's a lot of stuff to sort through but there is a limitation device at the left, which can prove to be helpful. I chose to open an article called "Minerals" by Tom Brody and Sam Uretsky in "The GALE Encyclopedia of Children's Health: Infancy Through Adolescence." There was some information about foods that contain zinc. I also opened an article called "Mineral Deficiency" by Crytal Heather Kaczkowski in The GALE Encyclopedia of Nursing and Allied Heath. This article provided a better explanation of the role of zinc as a nutrient and why certain foods will provide this mineral. I noticed my term was highlighted in red throughout the article. This is a helpful feature when you need to browse an article quickly to see if it will be useful for a patron. The read to me feature worked well, the voice was clear and somewhat natural sounding. This can be a very useful feature for users.
